We have a two part adventure planned that covers a large footprint in France. Initially Mo and Mark will tour Normandy and then, having successfully (hopefully) navigated the country roads in a rental car from the north coast to the south west corner, we will link up with our children and their spouses in Bordeaux for a unique barge trip along canals beside the Garonne River visiting iconic vineyards, wineries and regional landmarks.
Normandy has been a bucket list destination especially since Mark’s father fought in WWII as a Spitfire pilot in the RAF. And with Mark having successfully completed a French wine certification level 2 course (enrollment was an Xmas gift from the family), an idyllic canal trip with numerous tasting opportunities was an effective way to say thank you while putting new knowledge to good use.
